Living in the Eternal

Living in the eternal is God’s plan for you right now. It is the power of Heaven working in you daily. But how do we live in the eternal?

Living in the Eternal

Today’s Scripture

1 John 5:12
12 Whoever has the Son has life; whoever does not have the Son of God does not have life. (NIV)

Eternal Life is in Christ

This eternal life is not simply an existence that never ends. Every soul has this. Eternal life is the endless existence in communion with God, filled by God with His qualities. Eternal life is abundant life. It is a glorious life. It is the victorious life. And it is in Him.

This eternal life is the gift of God found in the person of Jesus Christ. Jesus said that He was the Way, the Truth, and the Life. To find this life, we must accept Christ as the Way and the Truth. When we make Christ our Way, we choose to live our lives in word, thought, and deed within the holiness and mission of Jesus Christ.

Resisting sin to do what is holy in the direction of God’s command to help others find Him directs our path deeper into the eternal life found in Him. We will be tempted to follow another path, but it is the path of deceit. It seems right but only leads to destruction. The true path is found in the Way of Christ.

We embark and remain on this path with our decision to believe in faith that Christ is who He says He is. And if He is, then we trust He directs our path to eternal life.

The eternal life is ours now.

We live in it as we follow Christ. It is the union of our spirit and the Spirit of God through our faith in Christ. He infuses His wisdom, power, and strength into our spirit so that we live as more than overcomers.

We have His wisdom to make the best decisions for our lives and our children. We have power as we act within the holiness and mission of Christ. Step by step obedience releases power from Heaven to transform who we are and supernaturally alter our circumstances for the good. Because eternal life moves at a step-by-step pace, He gives us strength to endure as God moves mountains little by little.

Prayer: Lord, direct my steps to follow You in holiness and mission. Give me the strength to resist sin and the power to follow Your call to help others find you. Amen.
